Mission Statement
Our mission is to build a flourishing, inclusive community where every voice is heard, every resident is valid, and our shared environment is protected . Through transparent leadership and grassroots action, we aim to bridge the gap between people and policy, ensuring a fairer, greener and more connected future for all.
1. Community Representation and advocacy
- Voice of the people: Act a a direct conduit between residents and local government , ensuring that community issues are heard and addressed by elected officials.
- Policy's : Advocate for local policy's that address specific needs, such as affordable housing, sustainable development, and improved public services.
- Election Participation: Identify, support, and run local candidates who reflect the party's values in local council elections.
2. Social Inclusion and Welfare.
- Eradication of Poverty: Commit to local initiatives and policies aimed at reducing social and economic inequalities.
- Inclusive Growth: Promote the creation of resilient and sustainable communities where no one is left behind,regardless of their socio-economic status,age or background.
3. Strengthen Mental Health & Social Connection
- Partner with local, voluntary groups and the HSE to address social isolation and loneliness.
- Leverage local libraries, parks, and community centres as hubs for well-being activities and group topic talks.
- Ensure a "fit for purpose" mental health facility by strategic planning through political advocacy, direct engagement with service users, the HSE and the voluntary sector.
4. Disability accessibility & services
- Ensure social housing policies address the specific needs of people with disabilities
- Prioritise accessible playgrounds, beaches, etc. improve footpath design to remove obstacles and ensure adequate disabled parking
- Work with PPN's to connect with local groups and ensure disabled people are represented on strategy policy committees
5. Support Animal Welfare
- Propose and support by-laws that protect pets and wildlife.
- Support budgets for local authority, animal welfare groups, including warden staff and shelter facilities.
- Advocate for clear,accessible, and well publicised mechanisms to report animal cruelty within the community.
- Support and advocate for a ban on fox hunting and all animal blood sports.
6. Civic Engagement and Education.
- Empowered Participation: Encourage residents to take part in democratic processes through public forums and community led projects.
- Internal Democracy: Maintain a transparent and participatory internal structure where all members have a say in the party's direction and candidate selection.
7. Integrity and Sustainable Governance.
- Ethical Conduct: Ensure all party members and candidates uphold a standard of integrity, avoiding personal attacks and promoting respect for all individuals.
- Environmental Stewardship: Support local environment protection and sustainable development to ensure the community thrives for future generations.
